Which material should I choose?

Choose Crystal Clear Epoxy Resin for jewelry, coasters, molds, floral keepsakes, and layered casting projects up to 1 inch per layer. Choose Deep Pour Epoxy Resin for river tables, flower preservation, deep molds, and 2–4 inch pours. Choose Coating Resin for glossy 1/8–1/4 inch surface coats. Choose Resin Casting Powder for opaque, ceramic-look coasters, trays, candle holders, planters, sculptures, and home decor.
Why does the estimate include extra material?

Dimension-based estimates include a default 10% safety allowance to help cover material left in mixing cups, small measurement differences, and normal project loss. The Mold Capacity (oz) and Dry Powder Weight modes do not add this allowance.
How do flowers, wood, or embedded objects affect the estimate?

Embedded objects take up space that would otherwise be filled with material, so your actual use may be lower than the full-volume estimate. Irregular shapes can be difficult to measure, so review the result carefully before ordering.
How do I measure a round project?

Measure the inside diameter straight across the widest part of the mold or project, then enter the planned pour depth. Do not use the outside diameter of the mold.
Can I enter measurements in centimeters?

Yes. Choose Centimeters near the top of the calculator. If you switch units after entering measurements, the calculator converts the values for you without clearing your work.
What does oz mean in the calculator?

For epoxy resin, oz means mixed liquid volume: 128 oz equals 1 gallon, and about 33.81 oz equals 1 liter. In Casting Powder's Mold Capacity (oz) mode, oz is also liquid capacity—the number printed on a mold. In the results and Dry Powder Weight mode, oz is weight. Always follow the label beside each number.
How does the Casting Powder calculation work?

Let's Resin Casting Powder uses 3 parts dry powder to 1 part water by weight, not volume. Dry Powder Weight mode calculates water directly from that ratio. Mold Capacity (oz) mode estimates 39.3 g of dry powder for every 1 oz of mixed capacity, while Mold Dimensions mode estimates a rectangular or round mold. Mold markings and actual yield can vary, so treat volume-based results as planning estimates.
Why is the product recommendation rounded up?

Resin kits and Casting Powder bags come in fixed sizes. The calculator recommends the smallest available combination that covers your full estimate, so the recommendation never intentionally leaves your project short.
Is the calculator result exact?

The result is for planning and shopping. Recheck every measurement and follow the product instructions for mixing ratio, working temperature, cure time, and maximum depth per layer or pour before you begin. Casting Powder mold-volume results also depend on the actual material yield.
