DIY Sparkling Christmas Tree Lights

Christmas is super close now, are you ready for making some ornaments to decorate your house? Today we are going to use some wooden slats and resin to make a DIY Christmas tree. Believe it or not, it is super easy and also friendly for beginners. Let’s get started now!!

Step 1

Prepare some wooden slats and make them connected like the shape of Christmas Tree with hot glue.

Step 2

Fix the the switch of the fairy lights at the top of Christmas tree slats and then fix the slats on acrylic board with hot glue. Please make sure that the surrounding area is tightly sealed to prevent the resin from flowing out.

Step 3

Prepare some resin with 1:1 by volume and then add some glitter into them and mix them thoroughly for 3-5 minutes.

Step 4

Pour the well mixed resin into the wooden slats. Wait about 8 hours (cold weather may need more time) to let the first layer get set.

Step 5

Fix the fairy lights on the first layer of resin with UV resin. You could place the fairy lights according to the desired effect.

Step 6

Prepare the second layer of resin, add some green alcohol ink into it and well mixed them. Pour the second layer of green resin.

Step 7

After the second layer cured, remove it from the acrylic board. Christmas tree is all done!!


Rectangular resin shims can also be made with rectangular resin molds to replace the wooden shims.
